Ask AI

Plain-English questions, answered from your manuals — with page-level source references.

How it works

When you upload a manual we extract the text and split it into searchable chunks with vector embeddings. When you ask a question, we find the most semantically relevant chunks across your workspace and pass them to a large language model along with your question. The model writes the answer using only what's in those chunks, and we surface the source manuals so you can verify.

Only manuals with status Ready are searchable. If you just added something, give it a minute — see processing states.

Tips for better answers

  • Reference by name or location. "How do I clean the Bosch dishwasher?" or "What's the warranty on the rooftop unit?"
  • Be specific. "What temperature should I set the Samsung fridge to?" beats "fridge settings".
  • Ask one thing at a time. Multi-part questions sometimes get half-answered. Split them up.
  • Use the model number if you remember it. When you have several similar machines (e.g., five identical HVAC units), the model number disambiguates fastest.

When the AI asks back

If your question matches multiple manuals (you have two TVs, or three dishwashers across the building) the AI won't guess — it'll show the candidates and let you pick which one you meant. Click the matching manual to re-ask with that one as the focus.

Source references

Every answer that uses a manual shows a chip with the manual's name underneath. Click any chip to jump straight to that manual's detail page. We always recommend skimming the source for safety-critical procedures — AI answers can occasionally miss nuance.

Q&A history

The dedicated Ask AI page (in the sidebar) shows previous questions and answers below the current one, so you can scroll back through a session. History is per-user and doesn't currently persist across devices.

Daily limits

The free plan includes 10 AI questions per day, shared across everyone in the workspace. The counter resets at midnight UTC. Paid plans include unlimited questions — see Plans & Billing.

What we send to the AI

Question text and the relevant chunks of your manuals. We don't fine-tune on your data, and the OpenAI API endpoints we use don't train on inputs sent through their API. Your workspace data is fully isolated from other customers.
