Alerts & Reminders
Stay ahead of expiring warranties and scheduled maintenance.
How alerts work
ManualVault scans your manuals for warranty end dates and manufacturer-recommended service intervals and surfaces them on the Alerts page. Each alert links back to the relevant manual so you can see the source.
Two types of alerts:
- Warranty — fires when a warranty is within 30 days of expiring, or has already expired.
- Maintenance — fires when a manufacturer-recommended service interval is coming up based on the last logged service.
Setting up alerts
Most alerts are auto-populated from the manual's processed metadata. For accurate dates, make sure each manual has:
- Purchase date — used to calculate the warranty end date.
- Warranty period — usually auto-extracted from the manual.
- Last service date — log services from the manual detail page so maintenance reminders stay accurate.
Edit any of these fields from the manual's detail page.
Email alerts
On paid plans, ManualVault can email you a daily digest of any new or upcoming alerts. Toggle it from Settings → Alert Emails. Free plans see alerts in the app but don't get email notifications.
Dismissing alerts
Each alert has a dismiss button. Dismissed alerts disappear from the list — useful for "expired but doesn't matter" cases. We don't re-surface them unless the underlying date changes.
